Janelle Monáe streams new song “What Is Love” from Rio 2 soundtrack

Film soundtracks have become a tried-and-tested way for artists to release standalone efforts these days, with Janelle Monáe the latest to contribute a song to a movie.

The typically upbeat “What Is Love” is lifted from upcoming animated movie Rio 2 and can be streamed beneath. It’s the first new track from Monáe since last year’s album The Electric Lady.
