Jane Weaver shares new track "Oblique Fantasy" for Abbey Road's Lock-In series
Jane Weaver is the latest artist to take part in Abbey Road's Lock-In series with a new track titled "Oblique Fantasy".
"Oblique Fantasy" is Weaver's first new material of the year, following September's Sunset Dreams EP, and is part of Abbey Road's Lock-In series.
The new song was recorded at Abbey Road Studios with Speedy Wunderground boss Dan Carey and engineer John Barrett, and marks the first Speedy Wunderground release that wasn't recorded at Carey’s Speedy HQ.
Weaver said, "I was invited to Abbey Road to record for one of their ‘Lock-In’ Sessions, so I asked Dan to be involved. I’ve always admired Dan’s production style - it’s really exciting and dynamic, most records I like these days have his name on them, and for ages I’ve been keen to have a look around his studio and explore the possibilities to do something creative together. We wrote the song at Dan’s place and then recorded it at Abbey Road’s Studio Three. Having to turn it around, write and record a song from scratch within 24hrs was really exciting as we’d never worked together before, but I knew we shared a joy for certain sounds and equipment."
Last year Django Django, Denai Moore and Bullion released their Abbey Road Lock-In track "Say Something". Fontaines DC also took part in the series last year, and recorded a rework of The Velvet Underground's "The Black Angel’s Death Song".
