Jamie xx working with Four Tet on new solo mixtape
The xx drummer and electronic producer in his own right, Jamie xx has opened up about his upcoming next solo effort.
Jamie has already spoken in the past of releasing a new EP (what now looks to just be a mixtape instead), saying that he’s been working with “a few pop artists” for it. Speaking to The Japan Times, the London musician has said that Four Tet is one of these famous names he’s been collaborating with.
“I’m just making loads of music basically,” the producer told the paper. “Making it with some friends and with Olly and Romy, and eventually it’s probably going to go into some sort of mixtape but I don’t know when it’s going to come out. It’ll just be ready when it’s ready.”
The release would follow on from 2011′s collaboration with Gil-Scott Heron, We’re New Here, as well as The xx’s 2012 album Coexist.
