Jai Paul has reportedly "finished" recording his debut album
It’s been a very long wait for a Jai Paul album (discrediting last year’s Bandcamp leak), but a full-length record could be soon on its way from the enigmatic producer.
Speaking to Dazed recently, XL Recordings’ in-house producer Rodaidh McDonald confirmed that Jai has “finished” an album and was in the studio working on it as recently as “last week”.
“We finished it, whether he wants to put it out or not I don’t know,” McDonald is quoted as saying. “It’s just a very long process for him I guess, he’s been working on (his album) for years. One of the things that I sort of identified was that he might benefit from some help using vocals. But his music sounds so good, he doesn’t need any help, I think he’s perfect.”
Jai Paul first came to prominence with “BTSTU” back in 2011, but the reclusive musician’s releases have been sporadic ever since.
