North-Wales' Irma Vep creates a dreamy lo-fi haze on new track "Evil".
Channelling talks of repression and the consequences that come with it, Edwin Stevens, aka Irma Vep, uses his twangy guitars to suspend the listener over his swirling pool of psych.
Combined with his lo-fi vocals, Stevens creates a strangely haunting summer track, that throws you from one end of the spectrum to the other. With cold, blues-y tones, Stevens also encapsulates the whirlpool of the summer months, dancing melodically into the sunset with his warm riffs.
While vintage in feel, Irma Vep manages to hold his desirable sound. "Evil" will be out 22 June on a limited 7” vinyl (250 copies) via Handsome Dad Records.
