Icona Pop give useful advice on frugal living

Our favourite Electro-Swedes, who are swiftly becoming everyone’s favourite Electro-Swedes, Icona Pop have offered some sage tips to those who are not currently raking it in from a well-deserved pop smash-hit.

In an interview with VICE’s music offshoot Noisey recently, the pair - Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt – gave what they call their ‘Guide to having no money’.

Among many sound suggestions, their top tips include:

• Don’t pay for drinks, become a DJ.
• Make soup out of nothing.
• Don’t spend your evenings stalking Amanda Bynes’ Twitter page, go out and party instead.
• If you feel sleepy, become a barista.
• Barter with market sellers.
• Turn your misfortunes into cash by writing great songs out of heartbreak.
• Work as cleaners so you don’t have any annoying work colleagues.
