Band names can be quite misleading. Husky Rescue, for example. Rescue – that’s got to be a good thing, no? Like returning to safety or coming out of the cold. And huskies, they’re cute, right?
Wrong. ‘Fast Lane’ is not so much the sound of a rescue – more the soundtrack to a warped chase sequence across the tundra. It begins simply enough, with charming, chiming bells, but quickly builds into a menacing collection of horribly distorted, Doors-esque guitar and dogged drumming.
Husky Rescue are (perhaps inevitably, given the name) Finnish – and you can practically hear the Nordic snow cracking beneath your feet throughout this song. The track is taken from the album Ship Of Light, which is being re-released in the UK on 17 April, courtesy of Catskills.
