Has Demi Lovato sampled Sleigh Bells without permission?
Sleigh Bells have taken to Twitter to air their concerns that Demi Lovato has sampled their tracks without permission.
Update: Sleigh Bells' reps have confirmed that "the band feels their music has been sampled without proper clearance and are seeking all available remedies with [Lovato's label] Island Records."
Meanwhile, Lovato's producers Rami Yacoub and Carl Falk have denied the claims: “We did not use any samples in Demi Lovato’s song ‘Stars’. Demi was also not involved with the production. She only wrote top line.”
With copyright claims becoming more and more prominent affairs - the saga of Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" and Jay Z's "Big Pimpin'" being two that spring to mind - the situations are minefields of legal wrangling and mud slinging.
Sleigh Bells appear less than thrilled at Demi Lovato's track "Stars", which they believe has sampled two of the electro duo's biggest hits, "Infinity Guitars" and "Riot Rhythm".
.@ddlovato Demi Lovato flattered you guys sampled Infinity Guitars & Riot Rhythm for "Stars" but we were not contacted. Gotta clear those.

The credits for "Stars" cites Lovato, Rami Yacoub, Carl Falk, Savan Kotecha, and Alexander Kronlund as writers/producers.
