Hannah Cohen's "Baby" video is six minutes of stunning abstract dance
Hannah Cohen is airing her new video for "Baby", a harrowing track taken from recently released record Pleasure Boy.
Matthu Placek has directed the visuals, which star internationally-renowned dancer Thibault Lac.
“I want a full Hollywood arch with as little bells and whistles as possible to produce the maximum effect. As a filmmaker who started as a dancer, I have avoided using dance in film until I was certain I had something to say and was confident I could represent the movement with respect and integrity for the craft. For Baby, I asked my dear friend Thibault Lac to interpret the beginning middle and end of a relationship through contemporary dance. Stripping him of barriers which could cloud the senses, I asked Thibault to reenact a history of love and loss along side a palpable element we all understand. In this film, pleasure and pain is a constant negotiation.”
Pleasure Boy is out now; you can read what we thought of the record here.
