GWAR frontman Dave Brockie reportedly dead at 50
Dave Brockie, the frontman for shock-rockers GWAR, is reported to have passed away.
The sad news was confirmed by former bassist Mike Bishop to Style Weekly, who described Brockie as “one of the funniest, smartest, most creative and energetic persons I’ve known”.
“He was brash sometimes, always crass, irreverent, he was hilarious in every way. But he was also deeply intelligent and interested in life, history, politics and art.”
The singer is said to have been found by roommates at his home on Sunday evening (23 March).
Brockie, aged 50, was better known under the stage name of Oderus Urungus. He formed GWAR in 1986.
