Gucci Mane dropped by Atlantic Records
Anybody who’s even just signed in to Twitter for a second today must have seen Gucci Mane’s ongoing, very publicised breakdown. What’s not been so public is that he’s been axed by Atlantic Records due to his increasingly erratic behaviour.
The rapper, who recently starred in James Franco flick Spring Breakers, has been posting a series of tweets aimed at former friend and labelmate Waka Flocka Flame, plus others. He’s also been listing supposed sexual encounters he’s had, most with high-profile stars who firmly deny such claims.
Now, as The Fader point out, it seems a source of his anger is being recently axed by major label Atlantic Records. “Gucci Mane is no longer in business with Atlantic Records. “He’s not with Atlantic anymore,” an anonymous former rep tells FADER exclusively over email,” the publication posted earlier.
The star had only been signed to Atlantic since the start of June, having formerly severed ties with rivals Warner Bros Records. Meanwhile, it also looks like Mane has parted ways with long-term manager, Kevin “Coach K” Lee.
