Grimes, The Weeknd, Japandroids, Carly Rae Jepsen & more nominated for Canada's Juno Awards 2013
The nominations for Canada’s Juno Awards have been announced.
Veteran songwriter Leonard Cohen is up against the youthful duo of Carly Rae Jepsen and Justin Bieber, as well as electronic producer Deadmau5 for ‘Artist of the Year’, while Metric fight it out with the likes of Billy Talent and Rush for ‘Group of the Year’.
The ‘Breakthrough Artist’ category sees the likes of Grimes, The Weeknd and Cold Specks all nominated, while Drake is up for Juno’s ‘Fan Choice Award’.
‘Single of the Year’ predictably sees Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ leading the way, as does her record in ‘Album of the Year’.
Elsewhere, Kathleen Edwards is up for ‘Adult Alternative Album of the Year’ and Japandroids for ‘Alternative Album of the Year’.
