Griff releases new single "One Night"
BRITs Rising Star winner Griff is back with new song "One Night", which follows her June mixtape One Foot in Front of the Other.
The new track, premiered this evening (26 August) by Charli XCX as BBC Radio 1's Hottest Record, is Griff's first new material since releasing her debut mixtape One Foot in Front of the Other in June.
Griff says of the new song, ""One Night" is about feeling like you’re always carrying this darkness or burden. I think in the daytime we can feel distracted because we’re around people and we’re busy, but that moment between going to bed and falling asleep, there’s just enough silence for those burdens to get louder. Essentially this song is trying to understand why I can’t shake it, and the chorus comes to this breaking point of desperately wanting at least "One Night" alone."
As well as releasing her debut mixtape in June, the BRITs Rising Star winner also covered The Weeknd's "Save Your Tears" during her BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance.
