Keep the new Gremlins OST vinyl out of the light, and don't give it any water
The soundtrack to Christmas favourite Gremlins has been given a vinyl release - with extremely special effects.
"First of all, keep him out of the light... Second, don't give him any water... But the most important rule, the rule you can never forget, no matter how much he cries, no matter how much he begs, never feed him after midnight." Such were the instructions given to Rand Peltzer when he purchases a Mogwai for his son Billy, an event which led to their town's Christmas spirit being tinged with terror.
Now you can break these rules for yourself. As announced by Entertainment Weekly, Mondo are releasing the soundtrack to 1984 film Gremlins as a double LP. Much like the critters in the film, the Phantom City Creative-created artwork changes in response to light and water.
The gatefold jacket is UV sensitive, revealing hidden messages when exposed to sunlight, and the disk sleeves are water sensitive, revealing hidden images when exposed to a damp cloth. You can see the effects for yourself below.
