Grandaddy unveil dreamy six-minute piano ballad "A Lost Machine"
Grandaddy are today sharing their emotive new ballad "A Lost Machine" and its accompanying ghostly visuals.
The evocative new number will appear on Last Place, the band's first LP since 2006 favourite Just Like The Fambly Cat. Grandaddy have already shared some noises from the album, including recent single "Way We Won't".
"Every now and then I luck out and get a pretty good idea of what a song wants to be before I dig in and start working on it. This was one of those songs," says Grandaddy frontman Jason Lytle. "I had all kinds imagery and feelings in mind to guide me through the tracking and producing process. When this song started taking shape, it was the point where I knew I was working on a new Grandaddy album."
As well as the new video/single, Grandaddy have confirmed their first US show in support of Last Place - they'll play NYC's Le Poisson Rouge on 28 February. The band have a UK tour planned for spring 2017, plus a slot at the excellent-looking Primavera Sound festival. Find out more about the band's upcoming live dates.
