Gorillaz are back, artist Jamie Hewlett confirms
Gorillaz's co-creator, artist and designer Jamie Hewlett has confirmed that the groundbreaking animated alt. hip-hop outfit are returning.
In quite what capacity, the world's still fairly unsure. He began uploading some concept art to his Instagram account, and when asked if this was a harbinger of the return of 2D, Noodle, Russell and Murdoc, he succinctly replied "Yes. Gorillaz Returns."
According to Stereogum, Albarn was preparing new music for a 2016 release, so this all makes a lot of sense. 2016 may be ambitious however, with Albarn working on his new music, wonder.land.
Gorillaz last released a record - The Fall - in 2011.
