Glastonbury reveals Emerging Talent Competition finalists
Glastonbury Festival has revealed the eight finalists of this year's Emerging Talent Competition.
Bossy Love, Early Ghost, Gillbanks, Hattie Whitehead, Henry Green, Lady Sanity, Marcus McCoan, and She Drew The Gun have been shortlisted ahead of the finals next month on 9 April.
The winner of the overall competition will perform on of Glastonbury's main stages, and be given a £5000 PRS for Music Foundation Talent Development prize. Two runners up will be awarded £2500 Talent Development prizes.
Speaking about the finalists, festival organiser Emily Eavis says: “Once again, we’ve been impressed by both the quality and quantity of new music out there in the UK and Ireland, with thousands of talented acts entering this year’s competition. It was extremely tough to narrow the 120 acts on the longlist down to 8 finalists, but we’re really pleased with the group of acts we’ve ended up with. I can’t wait to see them play at the live final.”
The competition is supported by PRS for Music and the PRS for Music Foundation.
