Gilbert & George design record covers for Secret 7″
Secret 7″ are set to return for Record Store Day 2013 in April, giving music-buyers the chance to get their hands on surprise special releases.
The initiative sets out to raise money for charity, this time round for anti-gang violence group Art Against Knives, by selling seven 7″ by a number of major artists. Each vinyl is specially packaged so you don’t know which you’re getting until you open it.
And now it’s been confirmed that among the artists designing the sleeves this time round will be Brit-art royalty Gilbert & George and contemporary Chinese artist Ai Weiwei.
The acts taking part this year are Elton John, Jessie Ware, Nas, Laura Marling, Nick Drake, Haim and Public Enemy, as seen below:
- Suede reveal live video for new track "Antidepressants" (and tease a new album)
- Nick Cave shares story on getting mistaken for Nicholas Cage
