Ghostpoet, Benga & Tom Odell to play Record Store Day launch party
The UK organisers of Record Store Day have announced that Ghostpoet and Tom Odell will play live at a special launch show for this year’s event.
Taking place at Rough Trade East next Thursday (21 March), the invite-only party will also see Benga take up the DJ reins.
UK founder Spencer Hickman said of the annual event:
“Record Store Day has now become an established part of the music calendar. What makes it special is the character and individuality of record stores. There’s nothing to beat the enthusiasm and atmosphere of a great record shop. The reason great indie stores succeed is that they love music as much as their customers do. Record Store Day is like one huge festival taking place in every part of the UK”.
Record Store Day 2013 takes place on 20 April.
