Friendly Fires are not happy that Boris Johnson used "Blue Cassette" at a party conference
Friendly Fires have called out Boris Johnson after he used the band's "Blue Cassette" song at a Conservative party conference.
Friendly Fires have responded after finding out that UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson played their "Blue Cassette" song before taking to the stage at a Conservative party conference.
It's a déjà vu moment, after various musicians including Neil Young and Rihanna called out former US President Donald Trump during his time in office for using their music without permission at rallies.
After finding out that the UK Prime Minister had used their Pala track for a Conservative party conference, Friendly Fires took to Instagram to respond. They shared a post with the information and wrote "What the fuck?" alongside it, and revealed that they "do not endorse" the party using the track, and have "asked our management to make sure it isn't used again". In another post, they added, "If we'd have intended them to use it, we'd have named the track "Blue Bunch Of Corrupt Wankers"." Check out the screenshots below.
