Every lover of good musical television breathed a huge sigh when it was announced that Jimmy Fallon would be leaving Late Night and taking The Roots with him. But now his replacement Seth Meyers has confirmed details of his own house band.
Portlandia star and fellow Saturday Night Live comic Fred Armisen will take on the role of band leader, recruiting Seth Jabour and Syd Butler of Les Savy Fav, Eli Janney of Girls Against Boys and Kim Thompson (who plays in Beyoncé’s band) to complete the roster.
Armisen will also “curate” the show’s schedule of musical guests. Check out a photo of the new band, along with Meyers, above.
