Franz Ferdinand to release collaborative album with Sparks
Franz Ferdinand are reportedly at work on a joint album with L.A new-wavers Sparks.
The keyboardist for the veteran synth-pop outfit, Ron Mael revealed the plans recently to NME, stating that you could “really hear a mashing together of both bands” in the resulting recordings.
“If there was a train crash between Franz Ferdinand and Sparks, this is what the wreckage would sound like,” he added. “Alex and Russell’s voices are very distinctive, so you notice the trade-off between them straight away. Both bands’ styles are coming together pretty seamlessly.”
Sparks, who originally formed in 1971, last released an album in 2009. Franz Ferdinand, on the other hand, released their fourth album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action in 2013.
