Frank Ocean drops out of Bestival, cancels European shows
Frank Ocean has revealed he will not appear at this year’s Bestival and V festivals, cancelling all upcoming European live dates in the meantime.
Ocean, who released his studio debut Channel Orange last month, was set to support Coldplay on their European tour, as well as making festival appearances at Bestival, V, Pukkelpop, and Rock en Seine, but has now confirmed he’s been forced to drop out.
The R&B singer had to abandon his set at last weekend’s Øya Festival in Norway after just a handful of songs, with the musician cited as having lost his voice.
Ocean released the following statement:
“Let me start by saying I feel like an asshole right now but a tough decision had to be made in regard to my schedule over the next months and the casualties of that decision include my appearances at upcoming festivals in Europe and my opening slot of the European leg of the Coldplay world tour. Sorry as fuck, I’ll be back if you’ll have me.”
