Frances lobs out full-blown pop smash "No Matter"
Frances gives us a full-blown pop smash with new single "No Matter", another preview of upcoming debut LP Things I Never Said.
Breaking away from her piano-led pop and stunning balladry, the latest single to be taken from her debut album shows a brand new side to the rising singer/songwriter. While Frances has dabbled in the more electronic side of pop before with collaborative efforts from RITUAL and Pomo on early EPs, "No Matter" sounds refreshingly different, but with her voice still at the forefront it’s definitely a Frances record - just one with a difference.
Speaking about the origins of the track she explains: "I wrote 'No Matter' when I'd just moved to London. Coming from a small town and moving to the capital was overwhelming and exciting; there's so many people from all over the world in this one beautiful city, living their lives and following their dreams. In those first few weeks I met so many people from so many different places, and I realised that we don't just share a city, we share our humanity."
"I wanted to step out of my comfort zone for 'No Matter'," Frances continues. "I love writing ballads and feeling the emotion that comes out of them, but sometimes you just need to dance and sing about something uplifting!"
