Retro-chic twopiece, Foxygen have posted a message online confirming and explaining the cancellation of their slot at LA’s upcoming FYF Fest.
FYF Fest will take place in Los Angeles this coming weekend (24-25 August), with the duo previously planned to perform. However, following injuries frontman Sam France endured recently at a live show, they have announced their set will no longer go ahead.
In a statement released online, the pair give the previous reason for the cancellation rather than recent in-band tensions that have emerged.
Check out the full statement below:
“Foxygen will be unable to perform at next week’s FYF Festival in Los Angeles. The cancellation is directly related to injuries sustained by Sam France during a Minnesota performance in late July. Sam sustained complete fractures of the tibia and fibula. The breaks were severe enough to require an intramedullar nailing of the tibia (Google Image this phrase) and a metal rod be placed in his leg. Sam is currently unable to walk, and the healing process — while already under way — will require six weeks of physical therapy. That said, the healing process is not so far”
