Forthcoming Elliott Smith doc "Heaven Adores You" to feature upwards of 20 unreleased songs
Heaven Adores You, the forthcoming Elliott Smith documentary, had its festival premiere earlier this month, and though details remain fairly scant about the project, it’s been shared that there may be as many as 20 unreleased Smith songs featured in the film.
Kevin Moyer, an old friend of Smith’s and “one of the few people who have been able to look into the Universal and Kill Rock Star vaults” explained to NME that roughly 15–20 of the 35 songs used in the film, which span the full breadth of the songwriter’s career, have never been released.
Heaven Adores You premiered at the San Francisco International Film Festival earlier this month, yet any details regarding a possible wider release for the Kickstarter-funded film have yet to be stated.
