Foals' new track "Mountain At My Gates" is their biggest pop song in years
Foals' latest track "Mountain At My Gates" is a funk-tinged glance at their roots, and differs immensely to predecessor "What Went Down".
Instead of lingering in the gigantic rawk riffs like they did on "What Went Down", the title track from their upcoming record, Foals glide through the groove-pop of "My Number" and into the noodly-squeadily guitar noises of their first two records. It slinks and stutters and builds to titanic sizes like the Oxfordshire outfit are prone to do - it's one of the most instantly ear-friendly tracks they've lobbed out in a long time.
What Went Down, Foals' fourth studio record, following 2013's Holy Fire, is due out 28 August.
