Florence and The Machine details third LP and reveals visuals for "What Kind Of Man"
Florence and The Machine has officially announced third full-length How Big How Blue How Beautiful, and unveiled lead single "What Kind Of Man".
Florence Welch has teased the release after iTunes goofed and leaked her artwork and new single's title.
The follow-up to 2011's Ceremonials was written and recorded during 2014 after a period of time away from the industry, and produced by Markus Dravs (Björk, Arcade Fire) with contributions from Paul Epworth, Kid Harpoon and John Hill.
Explaining the decision to work with Dravs, Welch said:
"Markus has done a few Arcade Fire albums, and he’s done Björk’s Homogenic, which is a huge record for me. And I felt he had that balance of organic and electronic capabilities, managing those two worlds. And, you know, he’s good with big sounds. And l like big sounds. And he’s good with trumpets, and I knew I wanted a brass section on this record... I wanted to make something that was big but that had a gentleness to it. That had a warmth, that was rooted. I think that’s why we went back more to the live instruments. Something that was band-led almost."
How Big How Blue How Beautiful is released 1 June via Island. "What Kind Of Man" is available now on iTunes.
