Embrace the dramatic ambience of Floating Points in new track "Kelso Dunes"
Taken from the Reflections – Mojave Desert project and accompanied by a Pompeii-esque video, Floating Points' new "Kelso Dunes" continues in the same vein as previously shared "Silurian Blue".
The brainchild of musical wonder wizard Sam Shepherd, Floating Points has been breaking down boundaries and delivering concise and beautifully crafted ambient electronica. Since the release of debut album Elaenia last year, Floating Points have become a sought after live entity, supporting The xx on their Brixton Academy dates as well as collaborating with the likes of Caribou and Four Tet.
"Kelso Dunes", the second track taken from the short film and soundtrack entitled Reflections – Mojave Desert, mirrors the stark but beautiful landscape of the Mojave Desert: the natural sculptures and the great emptiness that is contained within. Melodic synthesis rises and falls whilst the pounding of colossal war drums give way to screeching guitars, creating a rich tapestry of mind-bending craftsmanship.
