Flaming Lips, Dinosaur Jr & more contribute to Sparklehorse tribute album

A new tribute album to late Sparklehorse frontman Mark Linkous is being prepared, currently raising funds for the project through crowdsourcing.
Among those set to contribute to Last Box of Sparklers are the likes of The Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, Mark Lanegan, The Joy Formidable, Grandaddy’s Jason Lytle, Phantogram, Portugal. the Man and more. Dinosaur Jr are also likely to record a track for the release too, according to a trailer video for the venture.

Linkous passed away back in 2010. Money raised from the project will go towards helping awareness for mental health conditions.
