Following the release of their debut album The Big Black & The Blue last year, Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit have confirmed details of their second album. Recorded in Omaha by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes) The Lion’s Roar promises to be a more dynamic, less stark album, featuring a full band with the girls’ father Benkt on bass, Mattias Bergqvist drums, while Mogis, Nate Walcott of Bright Eyes and a cast of Omaha-based musicians round things off.
The Söderberg sisters have also revealed an album teaser and announced a live date at Bush Hall for 6 December ahead of the release of The Lion’s Roar on 23 January 2012 via Wichita Recordings.
