Female drummers unite for Christmas charity single "Little Drummer Girl"
12 female drummers have joined forces to record "Little Drummer Girl", an alternative take on the festive classic that will see all proceeds donated to charity.
"Little Drummer Girl" is an alternative take on the festive standard "Little Drummer Boy", and sees 12 female drummers from the UK and US play on the track.
As well as featuring 12 drummers, the song includes three female guitarists and three female vocalists, and is produced by Kerr McCall of The Echo Lab Music Studios, who, together with drummer Charlotte Bibby, started the project.
Proceeds from the track will be split between Frightened Rabbit's Tiny Changes charity and Action For Children.
When speaking to The Falkirk Herald about the song last month, Bibby said, "We’ve been inspired to keep an eye on all of our young students and bands from hearing about the loss of Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison, whose band inspired me to enter the music business."
"Scott was so honest in his songwriting and helped so many people through their own struggles," Bibby added. "This has inspired us to continue his vision and help others that need support in any way we can, but especially supporting the charity that was set up in his name."
