Facebook will allow artists to start charging for access to livestreams
Facebook will be introducing a new feature which will allow page owners and artists to charge an access fee for their livestream events.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and its impact on industries moving online, Facebook Live is getting a makeover, and is introducing a bunch of new features, and bringing back a few old ones.
Among those is Live With, which will allow people to co-host live videos similar to Instagram. Users will also be able to mark Facebook Events as online only.
Facebook will also be introducing an access fee option for live videos in order to support small businesses - that could be anything from a livestream performance, an online class, or a conference.
The announcement also states that Facebook have already introduced a donation feature to live videos to benefit nonprofit organisations.
