Explosions In The Sky: Album playback at the Greenwich Planetarium on 18 April
I can’t say the word Planetarium without thinking of that character in South Park. You know the one? Dr. Adams, who has a bone marrow disease which prevents him from being able to pronounce the “t” in Planetarium resulting in him saying Plane-arium. Hilarious, eh? Yeah.
Anyway, news reaches us in the form of a rather special album playback of Texan post-rock titans Explosions In The Sky‘s new album Take Care, Take Care, Take Care. Released on April 18 via the lovely folk at Bella Union, the album will be played in its entirety in the suitably cosmic surroundings of the Peter Harrison Planetarium at the Greenwich Royal Observatory – with a full planetarium simulation accompanying the playback. Fancy!
The first 70 people to pre-order the album via the Bella Union website – which also comes complete with a quadruple gate-fold packaging, a huge poster and postcard – will receive a ticket to this special event. The playback will take place between 7.30 and 8.30pm on Monday 18 April.
Look out for an interview with Explosions In The Sky on TLOBF over the next few days.
