End of the Road Festival announce new compilation series Between the Music

End of the Road Festival founder Simon Taffe has announced the launch of a new compilation series titled Between the Music, which includes tracks that Taffe plays "between bands on all the different stages."

The first volume of Between the Music is made up of tracks by the likes of Jackie Shane, The Soul Stirrers, Link Wray, The Lafayettes, Dion and more, and is the product of a tradition that End of the Road Festival founder Simon Taffe has been doing since the first edition of the festival - burning songs to CDs and making playlists of tracks to be played between each acts on each stage at the festival.

Taffe said that Between the Music is "A compilation based on all the tracks that I play in between bands on all the different stages. It’s not really necessarily bands that play End of the Road, it’s more like my whole record collection."

He added, "I still get really excited to make a compilation, even though it’s a lot bloody harder these days because everyone’s heard everything on Spotify, but I love sharing music with people and love introducing them to songs."

It was in answer to persistent queries like the one above that End of the Road decided to launch the first of what will be an ongoing compilation series: Between the Music.

Between The Music Volume One will be released via End of the Road Records on 16 September, and is available to pre-order now. A clear vinyl edition will be available exclusively at this year's festival from 1-4 September.
