Empress Of returns with new cut "Water Water"
Empress Of, AKA producer/singer Lorely Rodriguez, has shared a new single called "Water Water".
We've always been big admirers of Rodriguez's output, and tipped her for success at the end of 2013 in our annual Ones To Watch list; we stand by that, but perhaps we were a little quick off the mark.
Now she's returned with a new single, throbbing with experimental techno rhythms and ethereal dreamscapes. It's punchier, more guttural than prior material from the Empress Of moniker, but still retains a sense of fluidity and malleability that she demonstrated on tracks like "Hat Trick" and "Realize You".
Empress Of will play Brighton on 15 May at this year's The Great Escape festival.
Rodriguez's debut long-player is expected later this year. "Water Water" is out now on Terrible Records.
