Emily Eavis says one-day Worthy Farm event in September won't be going ahead
After being granted a licence to host a one-day live event in September, Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis has revealed via Instagram that it won't be going ahead.
Back in May Mendip District Council granted a licence for Worthy Farm to host a one-day event with a live audience. A list of 50 conditions came alongside the licence, including only allowing performances to take place on the Pyramid Stage, a capped capacity of 49,999 (including staff, traders, performers and crew), and no camping allowed.
Despite The Guardian confirming in May that the September event would be called Equinox and that the line-up was already booked, Glastonbury Festival co-organiser Emily Eavis revealed on Instagram yesterday (20 July) that it'll no longer be going ahead.
Eavis wrote, "Three days until we open the Worthy Pastures gates and it’s looking so lush on the farm. We've decided not to go ahead with the September gig idea for a number of reasons, so we're putting all of our energy into the campsite for now! See you in a few days..."
