Elton John shares heartfelt message after stopping show early following walking pneumonia diagnosis
Elton John has shared a heartfelt message after he was forced to cut his Auckland show short yesterday (16 February) following his walking pneumonia diagnosis earlier that day.
The iconic musician has apologised to fans after he stopped his global farewell tour show in Auckland early after losing his voice and crying on stage.
Online footage shows the 72-year-old musician being escorted off stage while the crowd gives him a standing ovation.

After the show, Elton John shared a heartfelt message on Twitter about having to cut the show short. He wrote, "I want to thank everyone who attended the #EltonFarewellTour gig in Auckland tonight. I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia earlier today, but I was determined to give you the best show humanly possible."
In the thread, he adds, "I played and sang my heart out, until my voice could sing no more. I’m disappointed, deeply upset and sorry. I gave it all I had. Thank you so much for your extraordinary support and all the love you showed me during tonight’s performance. I am eternally grateful."
