Sir Elton John honoured with new Royal Mint Music Legends commemorative coin
The UK's Royal Mint will celebrate Elton John's music career by honouring the music legend with a new commemorative coin.
Elton John is the second artist to be honoured by the Royal Mint's Music Legends coin series, after January's coin that paid tribute to Queen.
The new coin is designed by Bradley Morgan Johnson, and includes John's straw boater hat, a union jack and his signature round glasses as a pair of quaver notes.

Sir Elton John says of the commemorative coin, "It really is a fabulous honour to be recognised in this way." He adds, "The last few years have contained some of the most memorable moments of my career, and this is another truly humbling milestone on my journey."
The BBC notes that a one-off coin will be auctioned to fundraise for the Elton John Charitable Trust.
