The new Boiler Room streaming service 4:3 launches today, and will see the likes of Elijah Wood and Peaches contributing to its video content.

4:3 is a new platform that'll host underground films and projects that are related to performing, youth culture, identity and freedom.

A selection of short films have been selected by curators Elijah Wood, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Peaches, and Jenn Nkiru.

As well as original shorts, 4:3 will showcase feature films and act as a cinema, screening some old-timers, cult classics, festival worthy visuals, and exclusive limited releases.

Elijah Wood came to be a part of the project after producing ‘A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night’ and ‘Seven Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss By Passing Through The Gateway Chosen By the Holy Storsh’, both deemed as burgeoning art projects that now see the actor tap into the underground culture.

4:3's Creative Director Amar Ediriwira expanded on Wood's involvement, "It’s an open secret that Elijah is a left-field crate digger with a Prince obsession - which will be the focus of something very special we have in the works for later in the year. For now he has picked two films that combine twisted humour and performance.”

The Canadian electronic musician and performance artist Peaches is also among the names to lead the creative platform into the open, Amar Ediriwira explained, "The renegade queer icon that is Peaches has chosen two short films that explore the body, fluids and art. Later in the year, we’ll be re-releasing her provocative concert film ‘Peaches Does Herself’ with unseen extras and specials."

As well as original video projects, 4:3 have also landed full length documentaries, including Flying Lotus' debut feature film Kuso.

With a mix of original and archive content, 4:3 also welcomes original work from Boiler Room, and will attempt to merge the worlds of underground film and music. Find out more.
