
EFG London Jazz Festival announces Don Cherry tribute event featuring Neneh Cherry and Dwight Trible
EFG London Jazz Festival has announced a third wave of acts for 2022, which includes appearances from Neneh Cherry, Dwight Trible and more for a Don Cherry tribute event at the Barbican.
The Don Cherry tribute event will be led by Kahil El Zabar Ethnic Heritage Ensemble at the Barbican on 20 November, and will feature special guests including Neneh Cherry, Dwight Trible, Don Cherry's son David Ornette Cherry and Naima Karlsson.
EFG Londonn Jazz Festival has also announced new names including Chucho Valdés, AZIZA, Zoe Rahman, Rosie Frater-Taylor, Doomcannon, Nadeem Din-Gabisi and more.
The multi-venue London festival will also include performances from Makaya McCraven, Melody Gardot, Dianne Reeves, Amythyst Kiah, Abdullah Ibrahim, Dhafer Youssef, Bendik Giske, Courtney Pine, Matana Roberts, Fatoumata Diawara, Alabaster DePlume, Emma-Jean Thackray and many others.
This year's 30th anniversary edition of the festival will feature live and digital performances, special collaborations, new commissions and more.
