Ed Harcourt announces new album with lead single "Drowning In Dreams"
Ed Harcourt has announced details of his ninth studio LP Monochrome To Colour, as well as unveiling "Drowning In Dreams" as the lead single.
"Drowning In Dreams" is a mesmerising five-minute instrumental that is the first taster of Harcourt's new album. His new single arrives with a visual shot by Steve Gullick in Iceland.
Monochrome To Colour will be Harcourt's second consecutive instrumental album, following on from 2018's Beyond The End.
Harcourt says of the LP, "The new album definitely has a sense of explosion and euphoria in places. A massive thing for me is melody. I grew up playing Mozart and Beethoven and that has stuck with me. Melody is the central thing."
He adds, "The new album is much more of an escapist record than Beyond The End. The last one was was quite minimal, very melancholic. The new record opens its arms to the world."
The musician recorded his new album at his home Wolf Cabin studio in Oxfordshire.
