Billboard has announced that Dua Lipa's "Levitating" is now the longest-charting release ever by a woman on the Hot 100 chart.

Yesterday (14 March) Billboard revealed that Dua Lipa's "Levitating" hit logged a 70th week on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it the longest-charting song ever by a woman.

As Billboard notes, Dua Lipa's "Levitating" has passed LeAnn Rimes’ "How Do I Live", which spent 69 weeks in the chart.

Dua Lipa still has some way to go to catch up with The Weeknd’s "Blinding Lights", which spent 90 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100 from 2019-2021.

She told Billboard of the achievement, "It’s nice after you work so hard, especially despite the pandemic, when you’ve got limited resources. So, it means a lot to me. "Levitating" doing its thing on the Billboard chart is absolutely surreal. That song has been my baby for so long, and to have it out in the world, and for people’s response to be the way that it is … it’s just absolutely mind-blowing to me. I’m really, really, really grateful for it all."

According to the piece, "Levitating" is also the longest-charting Hot 100 song in Warner Records' history.

Yesterday Glass Animals' "Heat Waves" broke a Billboard Hot 100 chart record by becoming the first song by a British group to top the chart for multiple weeks since Spice Girls' "Wannabe" in 1997.
