D/R/U/G/S, patten and Halls kick off Nail The Cross
-With a desperate queue of torn denim lining Kingsland Road, trying to force their way into a swiftly announced Justice DJ set at Visions Bar, No Pain In Pop’s annual Nail The Cross festival kicked off last night to a packed out Shacklewell Arms in London.
Boasting a headline set from electronic troubadours D/R/U/G/S and Pariah, Halls opened the evening with a brand new live set including a new live drummer. Playing a string of new material due out in November, Sam Howard and co. proved an exciting opening to the evening. The nigh-on un-Googleable Miracle then brought the melancholic grooves with their neo-Romantic pop to a packed out room before patten brought his intelligent, beat-laden onslaught to the baying crowd with choice cuts from his recent GLAQJO XAACSSO debut.
D/R/U/G/S was the final live act of the night and is becoming more and more assured in his mixtures of minimal techno and house in the live setting, warming the crowd up perfectly for Pariah’s turn on the DJ mantle which closed the evening with typical debauchery.
Nail The Cross continues at The Shacklewell Arms tonight with performances from headliner Nite Jewel, Echo Lake, Doldrums and more.
