Doyle from Gilmore Girls is writing a new musical based on the life of Frank Sinatra
Actor Danny Strong - who played Doyle in Gilmore Girls and Jonathan in Buffy The Vampire Slayer - ended up professionally eclipsing the roles he's still known for in recent years, co-creating Empire, and writing the last two Hunger Games movies and the 2012 HBO drama Game Change.
For his next project Strong will take on one of the biggest icons of the 20th Century, penning the book for a new musical on Frank Sinatra.
“It is an honour to get to write a musical about one of the biggest icons of the 20th Century," Strong says. "Sinatra is one of the great talents of all time and his fascinating and powerful story will make for a terrific stage musical. I’m deeply honoured to get this opportunity.”
The show is planned to open in early 2020 and is produced by the Ambassador Theatre Group.
