Donald Glover has been juggling two jobs since his first album proper Camp in 2011, combining his day job role in NBC show Community with his moonlighting as rapper Childish Gambino.
But now with Community’s fifth season approaching, it appears that Glover has asked to star in fewer episodes so he has more time to, in his own words, “be taken seriously as a rapper”.
As CoS note, Glover’s character Troy Barnes will now appear in only five of the next season’s 13 episodes. This also coincides with what is seen by many as a dip in the series, after ratings fell and Chevy Chase left during the fourth season.
