Doja Cat cancels The Weeknd tour and festival dates due to tonsil surgery
Doja Cat has pulled out of her tour dates with The Weeknd, as well as cancelling her upcoming festival dates due to having surgery on her tonsils.
Last week Doja Cat revealed on Twitter that her "whole throat is fucked" following surgery on her left tonsil after getting an "abscess". She also revealed that she "might have some bad news" coming soon, and later that day she shared a statement cancelling her festival appearances as well as dates on The Weeknd tour.
Doja Cat wrote, "I wanted you to hear it from me first. Unfortunately I have to have surgery on my tonsils ASAP. The surgery is routine but the recovery is going to take awhile due to swelling."
"That means I have to cancel my festival run this summer as well as The Weeknd tour," Doja Cat added. "I feel horrible about this but can't wait for this to heal and get back to making music and create an experience for y'all."
