DMX appears on U.S talk show Dr Phil, discusses recent troubles
Rapper and technophobe, DMX has appeared on the Dr Phil show in the States, opening up about his recent financial problems and brushes with the law.
Speaking to the celebrity TV psychologist last night, the rapper discussed his past misdemeanours and current predicaments; namely, his recently having filed for bankruptcy, and his $1.3m in child support arrears.
He told the host that he “doesn’t know” why he no longer makes $13m a year, but that his 11 children are all “taken care of.”
DMX, born Earl Simmons, batted away Dr Phil’s typically leading and probing questions, and was shown an ‘arrest timeline,’ which included charges of rape and involvement in a Denver stabbing- for which he was later cleared- and an incident of animal cruelty.
“I would not change one aspect of my life,” DMX told the show, “because it got me to where I am right now, and I’m in a good place with God.”
A representative of DMX had previously told the Wall Street Journal that a tour of Europe and Africa had been planned for this fall, concrete details of which are yet to surface on a ‘DMX Tour’ website.
