Dizzee Rascal hits out at Radio 1 on Twitter, accuses BBC of racism
Seemingly disgruntled by the lack of airtime for his latest single “Love This Town”, Dizzee Rascal has criticised the BBC and Radio 1′s playlisting system in a series of strongly-worded tweets.
Taking to the social network last night, the grime MC wrote “Who ever does Radio 1 playlist suck my d**k” before continuing to criticise the seemingly unbalanced nature of what they choose to play, the station’s Live Lounge sessions and alleged preferential treatment given to American acts.
Dizzee also went on to accuse the Beeb of institutional racism, while admitting that some specialist DJs are exempt from his criticism.
The musician’s new album, The Fifth was released in September.
