Disclosure deny promoting drug use in their recent video
Disclosure’s accompanying visuals to latest single ‘Help Me Lose My Mind’ was recently removed by their label amid accusations that it depicted the glamourisation of drug use. Now, in the first interview given regarding the matter, the UK production duo have denied such speculation.
“The video doesn’t contain any drug using,” Guy Lawrence told Revolt TV recently. “People were thinking that people were on drugs in the video, because the video created a sense of euphoria, and people having a good time and connecting, going to a club.”
Guy added of its removal: “We didn’t want to offend anyone or upset anyone. We’re not about glamorising drugs in any way.”
The whole affair doesn’t seem to have set them back though, as they put it: “I never watch music videos ever… It’s not something that we really feel passionate about.”
Disclosure’s debut album, Settle was released earlier this year, warranting a Mercury nomination in the process.
